A decade of obsession
OPTICA began in a small Marrakech workshop in 2014, when founder Karim Ibnou grew frustrated with the gap between truly fine eyewear and what was available to the region. Armed with notebooks full of sketches and a passion for craft, he spent two years learning frame-making from master artisans before launching the first collection.
The first collection of twelve frames launched in 2016 — sold exclusively through a single boutique in Gueliz, Marrakech. Within months, demand had spread to Casablanca, Rabat, and beyond. What has never changed is the belief that a frame should weigh almost nothing, last a lifetime, and feel entirely unique to the person wearing it.
Today, OPTICA operates from its atelier in Marrakech, delivering to every city and region across Morocco. Each frame is still finished by hand.
